Prep your tray: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
This prevents sticking and makes cleanup easy.
Crush the cookies: Add Golden Oreos to a food processor and pulse into fine crumbs. If you don’t have a processor, seal cookies in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin until sandy.
Mix with cream cheese: In a bowl, combine cookie crumbs and softened cream cheese. Use a spatula or your hands to blend until no streaks remain and the mixture is smooth and thick.
Roll into balls: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into smooth balls.
Place them on the parchment-lined tray. Aim for uniform size so they chill and coat evenly.
Chill: Refrigerate for at least 30–45 minutes, or freeze for 15–20 minutes. Colder truffles are easier to dip and hold their shape better.
Melt the coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat white chocolate or candy melts in 20–30 second bursts, stirring between each. Stop when just melted and smooth.
If too thick, stir in 1–2 teaspoons of neutral oil or coconut oil.
Dip the truffles: Working with a few at a time, drop a chilled truffle into the melted coating. Lift out with a fork, tap gently on the bowl’s edge to remove excess, and slide it onto the parchment with a toothpick.
Decorate: While the coating is still wet, top with crushed Oreos or sprinkles. If adding a drizzle, let the first layer set, then drizzle with a contrasting chocolate.
Set and serve: Let truffles set at room temperature (20–30 minutes) or pop them in the fridge for 10 minutes to speed things up. Serve chilled for the best texture.
